Anyone who would like to participate needs to bring their gingerbread house creation to the Farmers’ Market this week between 9:00am and 10:00am to get ready for our silent auction. The houses will be on display in the kitchen area during the hours of the Farmers’ Market.
We will begin announcing the Auction winners at 1:30pm that afternoon. The winner will need to be there to claim their Gingerbread dwelling, make their donation and bring that lovely treasure home.
And the donation is really what this event is all about. C.I.D.E.R. is an acronym that stands for Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources, Inc. C.I.D.E.R. provides help for Grand Isle County elders and persons with disabilities by providing transportation to medical appointments, hot meals as well as delivered “meals on wheels”, loaned medical equipment like wheelchairs, walkers and so much more. To learn more about C.I.D.E.R. and ways in which you can help visit http://www.cidervt.org
So come, shop, bid, and support your local farmer and artisan as well as your local C.I.D.E.R. organization. You will do good for your community as well as your heart and home!
